Please explain the relationship between Consequentialism and Classical Utilitarianism.
Consequentialism refer to the ethical concept which suggests that consequences of one’s actions forms the basis of rightness or wrongness of those actions. So, according to this view, if the outcome or consequence of an action brings some good, it would be considered as a good action. Classical Utilitarian refers to the ethical principle that suggests that a moral act is one which maximizes utility or benefit to many people and prevent or reduce harm. Utilitarian theory is based on consequentialism and both the theories suggest that the outcome of an action determines the rightness and wrongness of the action itself.
