Jean Piaget developed the four stages of development which are sensori motor stage,pre operational stage,concrete operational stage and formal operational stage.They are the significant steps in social development as the child grows.Piaget defined schema as a mental structure and concept of schema is important as theory moves on from sensorimotor to cognitive structures.Piaget contributed to moral and language development of children.It was found that some of the studies were not practical as observed in children especially concerning the object permanence as it is related to memory capacity.The developmental stages were found to differ from one culture to another.
