Most of Poe's stories shows a psychological disorders in the themes of his stories and main characters. Most of the times, narrate or characters are suffering of mental illness.
For example: characters from his stories.
Montresori was suffered from revenge obsession
Roderick Usher's senses were very painful due to mental illness.
The Unknown murderer in "The Tell-Tale Heart".
The Unknown murderer in "The Black Cat". etc.
On the other hand Shakespeare also show many characters struggling with mental disorder.
For example: Macbeth and merchant of the Venice are good example of it.
