comparaison between shakespears works henry IV and Macbeth?
William Shakespeare in his work Henry IV and Macbeth based his theme on similar grounds. In the former, Henry is a King and in the latter, Macbeth is a nobleman. In both Henry IV and Macbeth, the protagonists are in a desire to reach a higher social hierarchy. Henry, who is the King, is an unsuccessful leader and a King because he is only bothered about his social standing. He continues to plot to climb up the social hierarchy. He cares little about his kingdom. This leads to his downfall. Instead of climbing up the social hierarchy ladder, he falls down straight instead.
Macbeth, a nobleman in a desire to be the one to take the throne, is so lured by power and social hierarchy and that he kills the ruling King. This leads him to eventually losing his mind through hallucinations. He is no longer considered as a candidate for leadership and thus, his desire to climb up the social hierarchy ladder, comes down to ashes.
The theme of both Shakespear’s works is similar in nature.
