Discuss engaging in negotiations and communication process while staying imperative

Homework Answers

Answer #1

While staying imperative, engaging in negotiations might make you look weaker and lesser in command. One has to be very careful while negotiating and engaging in communication with the opposite party when one is in command of the situation because if you don't hold your command, the negotiator might take advantage of the situation, while it is also necessary to not look too strict. The negotiator should have a happy deal and the imperative person should not have compromised a lot. The relationship between the parties should be kept healthy. There should be an integrative negotiation in which both parties win. First, the person should put themselves in the negotiaator's shoes, discuss each other's perception, find opportunities to act inconsistently with the other's views, listen actively and speak for a purpose.
