Answer #1

American influence has pervaded several cultures over the world. The US is extremely influential, especially with multi-national conglomerates. One can locate the yellow ‘M’ (Mc Donald’s) across the globe, representing the consumption of fast-food. These billion dollar industries also affect popular culture that heavily influences the youth. When it comes to cinemas. Hollywood rules the roost. American movies often portray the ultimate American dream advocating consumerism and materialism.

As a result, many indigenous cultures are losing their distinct identity and they are now drawn to Amercian ideologies and values. The US is truly emerging as an imperial power in this regard. Local industries are unable to compete with the Amercian giants.
