How does IWY (I do, We do and You do) model supports the introduction of new literacy concepts introduce by teacher.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The I Do WE Do YOU Do model helps teachers to understand the importance of explicitly teaching new literacy concepts and encourages supporting students before expecting them to complete a task on their own. The ‘I Do’ phase of a lesson involves tech ears telling students what they need to know and showing them how to do the things that they need to be able to do. The ‘WE Do’ phase involves the teacher and student working collaboratively to complete tasks together. By working together, teachers can help students use the steps they need to follow to complete particular tasks. Finally, the ‘YOU Do’ phase of a lesson involves students practicing what teachers have already taught them by themselves.
