This moral theory suggests that if the outcome of an action justifies the action, it's morally acceptable act. So, Emily's intention was not to harm her attacker instead, she was only trying to safeguard herself. On the other hand, the attacker's position could also be explained in the light of consequentialism as the attacker deserved to be punished for his behavior.
