Answer #1

Capital punishment cases or death penalty for a person means end of normal life and his death by law and order which never be expected by a person to die prior to his time. So in such cases courts involves forensic psychologists to asses the mental state of the defendants at the time of commiting crime , future chances of commiting such crimes and any other issues of defendants . So the final decisions depends on the reports from forensic psychologists and it also depends upon the defendants mental state if he / she wants to take the last chance or not , if permitted by the psychologist in the report.
