What are the three parts of a behavior? List each one and provide an example for each associated with a behavior of your choosing.
Behavior has three components: A (Antecedents ) ? B (Behaviors) ? C (Consequences). Let us take for instance, a a man smoking a cigarette. Rather than occurring in isolation, this behaviour is preceded by an antecedent that sets it off. In this case, it maybe this man maybe experiencing some anxiety with respect to work. Anxiety therefore serves as a trigger to the behaviour, which is smoking. Finally, the conquence or the outcome of the behaviour is what follows the behaviour. In this case, smoking maybe followed by a feeling of relief or the reduction of anxiety.
