Why are we able to recall the last few words a professor has said in lecture, even if we were not paying attention to them? (tell the types of memories being used, etc)

Answer #1

The fact that we are able to either recall the first few words or the last few words of a lecture is linked to the primary and recency effect of memory. This means that when a stimuli is given to an individual for the purpose of encoding or storing in the memory, the initial aspect of the stimulus or the last aspect is likely to be a more potent form of memory in the brain. This is researched and proven that the primary and recency effect tend to play a role in the memory, i.e. whatever is initially exposed or towards the end of the stimulus exposure has a greater chance or greater likelihood to be remembered than others (the ones in the middle).

Think about these techniques, and address one or more of the following questions: ---Should employers use social networking websites or “googling” to screen out applicants? Why or why not? ---Should we even bother asking for references or reference letters if we are going to get little useful information from them? ---Why do some interviewers like stress interviews, or like to...

On February 6th, we watched "The Founder", starring Michael Keaton. IF you were not able to make it to class (or had to leave early) then you should watch this film on your own. Answer the case study questions please. While attending college, I spent a few years working at a used-textbook store. The majority of the books we sold were purchased from students, individuals, and used-book wholesalers. Sometimes, when putting books out on the shelves, I would encounter books with phrases like “Instructor’s Copy” or “Sample Copy—Not for Resale” printed on the covers. When I asked my boss about these books, he told me that they were free copies given out to instructors,...

For this week’s discussion, I want you to discuss with your group what you think this study is about. What is the hypothesis? What theory does it come from? What do you predict will happen (do you expect something different than the hypothesis in the researcher instructions? If so, what and why?)? Do you think...

reply in 200 words In this week's forum discussion, we were asked to consider a medical term related to the reproductive system that we may have seen on TV or during other daily activities. Conveniently so, I saw a commercial for an Intrauterine device. Easily enough, with what I have learned in this course, I was able to break down the term "intrauterine device" as a device working within the uterus. The company that was selling the intrauterine device was,...

Do you agree with below paragraphs? why or why not? Write 200-250 words and give example . Many business alliances are driven by an intent to mitigate risk especially when entering new markets. This is particularly true when comes to expanding internationally.
