What would be a Type I error when doing hypothesis testing?
While testing our hypothesis we create a null hypothesis which means that there is no relationship between our variables. If our original hypothesis is found to be true, we reject the null hypothesis.
Type I error occurrs when we falsely reject a true null hypothesis. I.e our variables show no relationship but we conclude that they are in fact related to each other. So we accept the alternate hypothesis even though it can be a result of chance.
This type of error is denoted by alpha. ( mathematical symbol)
