.Utilitarianim is the theory moral theory , It defines that the action an produce good result that are happiness or pleasure and bad result that producs pain or happiness.

I helped my friend in his moment of crisis by lending some amount on his request without raising any question. I could notice the feel of gratitude and happiness on his face. My act produced happiness and plasure in my friends life,

Mills John Stuart and Jeremy Bentham are the most important classical utilitarians both were important theorists and social reformers. Utilitariasm is the theory depends upon consequences that result due to  actions, laws, policies, character traits, and moral codes. The consequences can be good or bad, right or wrong.

As per Benthem the only thing that is good in itself is pleasure by adopting the view called hedonism that is things are good in itself because the produce happiness and pleasure and things are bad because they produce unhapiness and pain, these are intinsic, on the other hand Mill considered both doctrines to be so closely and actions are right in proportion as they tend to promote happiness,  more valuable pleasures are those which employ pleasures of intellect, of the feelings and imagination.

The net profit that I brought by my action is happiness the consequences and the end resut was happiness the act and end result is intrinsic
