1. Describe the process of back translation. Why is back translation insufficient to guarantee equivalence?
I am part time translator by profession, we often have mnay assignments which require new concepts of translations. Back translation is translating a document back to its original language which is previously translated into different language. Eg;: Any English document is translated into German language, then some years later a group pf translators would translate it back into english language from german. This is helpful as it ensures accuracy, quality.
When the document is back ttranslated it is important that teh person should be from the same cultural background as the earlier document, because if not it can lead to discrepancies. There is always creative thinking process involved in translation, hence keeping it identitical to original text can be unrealistic. Same agency should do the back translation who has translated the earlier document
