Everybody has only twenty-four hours in a day. Time management allows a person to manage their time smartly. Time management allows a person to get the most done in a stipulated period of time. Time management requires an individual to prioritize tasks for the day. Some tasks need your urgent attention while other tasks can be done later or twice a week. Time management skills include preparing a to-do list for the day with tasks prioritized from urgent, to do first, then next and not very necessary. This helps give a person a basic idea about tasks at hand which need to be attended and tasks which can be left for later. For instance, you work from home, other than that, you have to cook, do the regular chores like cleaning, washing clothes, doing the utensils and vacuuming. You need to prioritize what is of utmost importance to you for the day. You have to work and cannot miss, that would be your priority. The next action would be to cook, so that you could eat. You can wash your clothes once in two days since it is not piling up. That could be a task for later. Gardening is something you could do later on the weekend. Thus, time management helps a person sort out priorities and tasks which need to be attended immediately and utilize their time more productively instead of being all over the place.
