11. George Kelly is all about the idea that we construct our reality, meaning what we know about the world is always a perception of reality. And that our perceptions of reality are always open to change and revision. Describe such a change is your life: how you had a strong belief about something or someone, only to come to a radically different conclusion or opinion. What was your original belief, what changed this belief, what was your new belief? How did this feel? What did you think or learn about yourself?
Answer. I had a belief that foreigners are very rude to us Indians and I was very much against them . I was scared of talking to a foreigner before. Last year I went to U.K. and ompletely changed my belief about foreigners. They are not at all rude to anyone and are extremely helping and caring. My old belief was replaced by this new belief.
There are certain stereotypes or prejudices all of us have. They can be defined as set of beliefs regarding a particular person , group or object. I learnt from my experience that we should never base our behaviours and decisions according to these stereotypes. They can sometimes be wrong as well.
