Monoamines are certain neurotransmitters such as dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin. The three are interlinked with one another since they have connected functions. The role of these neurotransmitters is the executive functioning in the brain. Also, if in abnormal quantities, these can lead to beginning of psychopathology in people. These neurotransmitters enable neurotransmission. They transmit signals across a chemical synapse and also affect the behavior of the person. In people who have bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or any other disorder containing thought delusions, hallucations, the proportion of these neurotransmitters is abnormal.
