Construct a debate between a moral entrepreneur and a law and order advocate on the issue: “Do casinos contribute to crime?”

Homework Answers

Answer #1

From the moral entrepreneur’s perspective, gambling in casinos is immoral because it has ill-effects on individuals as well as others around them. Because compulsive gambling can lead to outcomes such as indebtedness and bankruptcy, substance abuse, and family discord gambling in casinos contribute to increased crime. On the other hand. a law and order advocate would focus on the crime rate in the area in which the casino is located. So far, no consistent relationship between casinos and increased crime in a community has been demonstrated.
