i need a scenario of when someone failed to preform. they preformed poorly and didn't receive any negative consequences. what was the outcome

This has happened with me during my childhood. I was not interested in math subject. My parents asked me to join the tution or extra classes but due to disineterest I didn't follwed the teachings also well, the unit test exams were approaching and I got less marks. I was very afariad to confront to my parents. I was fearing that i would receive good scoldings from them. But eventually my parents got to know as they once had checked my school bag, my heart was thumping. But my father didn't scolded me instead he said never to hide anything from your parents. They said the exam is not the important thing in life there are various other important aspects but hiding is not allowed.

I started crying, and was not knowing what I was undergoing through, my parents hugged me. After that I was determined to practise more hard and became friendly with maths instead of being afraid.
