As there is no indication of which question needs an answer in your multiple questions posted here, I’m providing below the answer to your first major question on communication styles.

Answer 1)

First, I’m mentioning below a brief of all major styles of communication.

  • Assertive style – A confident style of communication, with no involvement of manipulation
  • Aggressive style – An ineffective style of communication, majorly involving the use of frightening, loud voice and threat
  • Passive-aggressive style – An indirectly aggressive style of communication, which includes being devious and complaining inside but pleasant on the face of another person
  • Submissive/Passive style – A conflict avoidance style of communication, in which the person tries to please everybody
  • Manipulative style – A calculative style of communication, including shrewdness and scheming in order to control others for own advantage

Now, here is the answer to each part of your question (you may modify it if required for your own experiences, in accordance with the above-explained styles):

  • My communication style in my relationship with parents: Assertive style, where I’m direct and open with them. I tell them about my feelings and thoughts while being respectful to them. I also listen and share their problems to solve. However, I also stand for my thoughts and beliefs.
  • My communication style in my relationship with siblings: Assertive style (majorly), but I also tend to use passive style when I want to give up things for my younger siblings. Sometimes, I even have to use the manipulative style when I have to take some work out of them.
  • My communication style in my relationship with friends: Assertive style (majorly), but I also tend to use passive style when I want to avoid any conflicts with my close friends. Sometimes, I even have to use the manipulative style when I have to take some work out of them.
  • My communication style in my relationship with significant other: Assertive style, where I stand for my thoughts and decisions while also respecting my significant other’s thoughts and decisions. I sometimes use passive style when I want to compromise on my needs for the happiness of my significant other.
