The city of Milwaukee has seen their peak time during the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The city has emerged after the arrival of French in 1674.
Beginning in the 1840s, Milwaukee began to take on definite German flavor. A wave of immigration from Germany headed to the new state of Wisconsin, and especially to Milwaukee. By 1860, German immigrants and their American born children constituted a considerable majority in Milwaukee. By 1880, native German made up 27 percent of city’s population.
German came with their traditional foods and culture which affected the Milwaukee’s tradition and foods. Germans had long perfected the art of Brewing Beer, so the city enjoyed various tastes of Beers during this time.
The Milwaukee was perfectly situated as a port city, a center of collecting and distributing produce. The city experienced wheat products and beers as the main food, because of German influence.
The city also experienced rapid industrial development which made the city a business hub. The accommodation during this era, the city experienced Italian, Russian, German and traditional tribal accommodation due to rapid economic and social growth.
