What should be done to improve the relationship between police and juveniles?

Relationship between police and juveniles are not as cordial as it should be.Juveniles are not aware of the laws and are often mistreated by the police due to lack of suffecient knowledge of the criminal justice syste,male children are more likely to be mistreated than girls.Ethnicity has a role,children from different minority groups tend to be treated differently.Since juveniles are under 16 more consideration can be given for them and more subtle way of handling them after the crime is recommended.Police can also be trained to handle aggresive juveniles.
