In your own words, describe the ways morbidity rates are influenced by social class, race, ethnicity, gender, and age.
Morbidity rate refers to the trend of disease and the frequency of diseases in a given population. It differs among different races, classes, ethnicity, gender and age. Different races have different genetic make-up, so they will be prone to certain diseases naturally and ethnicity comes under the big banner of race so that too will have the similar genetic effects. Classes in the society refers to the economic imbalance thus people who are rich will be able to afford a better life thus preventing any possible attack of the diseases whereas poor people will be living in an unhealthy environment, eat less nutritious food and work in dangerous conditions. They won’t be able to even pay for the expensive medical services. Certain diseases attack only a particular gender because of the different physical make-up and the changes that occur as one grows. As people grow old the physical body will become weak and thus causing more diseases.
