In what ways are motivation and emotion similar to each other and different from each other?

Two of the most important elements in human life are emotions and motivation. Emotions happen before motivation and motivation causes a behavior from which emotions emerge, so this relationship makes emotions and motivation as one group. When one experiences fear, it motivates them to do something about it, either face it or hide somewhere thus leading into an action. When one successfully overcomes one’s fear, happiness occurs and happiness motivates them to perform well. Emotions are the ones that motivate one’s behavior thus acting as a punishment or reward.
