Should faithless electors be allowed to go against the state’s presidential vote? Should there be any federal laws to govern this process?
Faithless electors were there throughout the US Elections. Ethically speaking, the faithless electors shouldn’t be allowed to vote against the state’s decision because they shatter the hopes of an entire state. Their votes should be nullified and the state should be given another chance to vote because few such votes might change the president and vice-president of the country if the competition is very close. They should also be punished and a new law should be enacted to punish people who betray the state.
