Human problem- solving covers a wide range of time scales. Present a real-world situation in which the decision making is time-constrained. Would it best be solved using a heuristic or algorithmic problem-solving method? |
In a real world situation, such as a tiger escapes from zoo and enters a residential area, the best thing here would be to take quick action. Algorithm method will not work, because this situation requires a quick action as it poses danger to people. In algorithm method, the forest officials my be called and a plan is made consisting of various step to capture the tiger, but this method cannot be exercised. The best way to address this is to use the heuristic method.Tthis may be done by shooting a tranquilizer on the tigers body. This is a quick method, which does not require much planning and will work in this situation.
