I'm planning a undergrad study to study the ratings of two facial traits of attractions at various levels. The participants will rate x amount of faces depiciting various combinations of the trait levels. The particpants will rate each face on a 1-7 likert scale asking about health and attractiveness. I'm thinking the study is designed as a 2 (facial health conditions I.e High health, low health) x 2 (symmetry levels I.e asymmetric/symmetric) within- subjects factorial design with two dependent variables.
What sort of descpritive and inferential statsticits would I use for this data.
Thanks for the help
Descriptive statistic helps in understanding a set of observations that an investigator proceeds to study, in this case the facial traits of attraction.
Central tendency can be used, as it will help you obtain the middle of the data set, which insinuates where the largest of the numbers fall.hemce, giving a result.
Inferential statistics are predictive tools.
Regression analysis would be appropriate for this study, as it incorporates dependent and independent variables, which can be used to set a parameter for the chosen sample population and hence generalized.
