Indicate whether each of the following scenarios represents a descriptive/correlational study or an experimental study and most importantly Justify your answer for each scenario.

1. You want to know about the relationship between family conflict and sleep quality. You ask 100 people to report about the amount of conflict they experienced on a particular day and then to rate the quality of their sleep on that evening.

2. You want to know about the relationship between gender and competitiveness in a video gaming task. You have 100 males and 100 females complete a questionnaire assessing competitiveness and then play video games a member of the opposite sex. While they play the video games, observers rate how competitive their behavior is.

1. correlational study as a correlation between sleep and conflict needs to be found out . ,ethod used is that of survey by asking 100 people of the amount of conflict and the quality of sleep. the responses will be used to generalise the correlation coefficient between sleep and conflict which will show that conflict being a variable determines sleep to what extent.

2. descriptive study as it involves observing people and describing their behavior. here also while a member plays video games his/ her behavior is observed and then a description to the level of competitiveness of their behavior is described
