Are schools taking over the role of the family by meeting some of the societal needs that the family was formerly expected to meet? If yes, then which functions? If yes, then to what degree have schools adopted these functions? Conflict Perspective:
Yes, to some extent schools have taken over the role of family by meeting some of the societal needs. For example: the bus facilities provided provided in schools, the interactive session that takes place in school, visiting old age home and orphanage etc all responsible for increasing the social life in school. A child spends most of his time in school and therefore is able to learn and urderstand about society. Certain cultural festivals that are organised in schools bring students closer to society and their needs as a whole. They introspect and understand the feeling of love, care, belongingness etc. So, to a larger degree, the school have adopted functions to bring a child closer to societal needs and quite effective in implementing what is expected from family.
