what is an alleged weakness of virtue ethics
As per Robert Lauden, virtue ethics is focussed on individual. It does not resolve big moral dilemmas.
It focuses on small traits but ignores the society at large. Modern society and the way the Government acts is very complex and cannot act on the basis of individual virtuous traits, as they have to focus on the whole population.
As per Gilbert Harman and many other psychologists, these character traits are seen as an illusion.
Relative dilemma is overseen/ignored. Virtues which suit one country may not be the case with the other.
