In a certain City of Townsville, people love their dogs. Dog groomers are very popular and are found throughout the city. In order to become a dog groomer, one must obtain a coveted “dog groomer license” which is granted by the City. In order to be awarded such license, a person must pass a city administered “dog groomer license” test. The City has hired you to explain to them how to set a cut score so they can decide for themselves where to where set it for their test. Their goals are to 1. make sure someone who is awarded a license can in fact groom dogs, and 2. to make sure too many people aren’t awarded licenses reducing their value and prestige.

Records indicate that approximately 250 people take the licensing test each year and of those, roughly 75 licenses are awarded. Assume that the distribution of scores on the test is approximately normal. In your recommendation to the City, provide the following information:

            A. The steps you would take to determine a criterion-referenced cut score

            B. The steps you would take to determine a norm referenced cut score

            C. The advantages and disadvantages of each method

            D. How the cut score impacts their two goals above (you can talk about false positive and false negative errors here)

Here assesment is made on the basis of predetermined crteria.here already made a criteria that what acctually percentage dog grommer should give certificate on the basis of their performance .they should fullfilled just basic criterion.following step should follow to determine criterion refrenced cut of score.

1.identification of structure and components of skill. The components may be goormer of dog caring and protective skill.

2.developing task for each components: it is theoretical in nature.now diffrent task should be structure to analysis the components of skill and measure it.

3.Developing test where various kinds of questions should be framed to understand the basic skill.

The advantage of criterion reference test is it helps to evaluate basic skills of performer and pre determined criterion develop the realiblity and validity of test.

The disadvantage is that we couldn't know the best performer and not able to derfferentiate to each other .

The advantage of norm refrenced test is compare performance of performer to each other because it is one of the easiest method and created to rank test taker.besides it snapshot to quick asses of certain certain things and everyone wants to learn better than other.

Disadvantage is many mistaken can be made by relying on test score to make educational decision and it's sometimes based biased.
