Is the postmodernism theory a conflict or consensus theory?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Postmodernism theory cannot be labeled as either conflict or consensus theory. Conflict theirs are theories which talk about the divide in the society, such as divide between genders or divide between classes. Consensus theory talks about the whole society functioning together with rule, order, norms etc.

The postmodernism theory does not belong to either of these categories. It believes that each individual create their own realities, and it doesn't even look at the society as a whole. So, even the question of conflict or consensus doesn't arise in post modernism as there is no divide nor there is integration and wholeness.
