Organized Crime and Racketeering laws in Illinois?
Its a huge subject but still I am trying to give it in summary:
Statute: Chapter 720, Illinios statutes, section 5/33, G1.
This law predicate activities or acts that is class two felony or higher than that which includes first degree murder, kidnaping, robbery, prostitutions, gang recruitments, gunrunning.
Activities prohibited under the law are direct involvement in any such activity which illustrates the felony of class two crime or insisting someone else to do such crimes.Besides, intentionally holding any property which controls such predicate is also a crime in this law.Imprisonment term is 7 to 30 years depending on the crime and starts from felony x. Fines are imposed upto $ 250000 or both fine and imprisonment are also imposed sometimes.
