In your opinion, does controlled drinking or total abstinence have more of a chance of keeping a recovering alcoholic on the path to improvement? Explain and support your answer.
I believe that total absitinence will affect the alcoholic person adversely. So if we want the person to leave his alcohol drinking malhabit , we should first try to control his intake and then eventually with time , the alcohol can be stopped completely. The gradual reduction in the alcohol intake will not pose any harmful risks in the person , because if the person is completely refrained from drinking , he might resort to other dangerous methods , and manier times can even attempt for suicides.
