We should consider increasing the age at which people can be licensed to drive from 16 years to 18 years as according to researchers, (Cacioppo, 2012), myelination of the human brain is not completed till an individual is in his or her early to mid-20s. The last areas to be myelinated completely are the frontal lobes, which are the areas involved in self-regulation, decision making, and judgment. Since all these traits are essential for driving safely the age for driving should be increased to 18 years.
