Scientists have found a gene that may control whether or not someone takes big risks. The gene, called neurod2, controls development of the amygdala. Please discuss how biology plays a part in contributing to behaviors such as discussed above according to your reading and the video below. Please be sure to elaborate on your ideas.

The amygdala; an almond-shaped brain structure integrates emotional learning and emotional responses such as fear perception (Lin, ?2005). NeuroD2 is a gene that is essential for amygdala development as it is reported that genes involved in amygdala function are altered in neuroD2-deficient mice. It has been reported that in the; brain's early development, the neuroD2 gene encodes the neuroD2 protein which transforms the undifferentiated stem cell-like cells into neurons or brain cells. Thus biology plays a part in contributing to behaviors, as it is responsible for the formation of emotional memory.
