Answer #1

Rational thinking is by our experience, knowledge, facts, judgement etc about the topic. This is common man's thinking pattern and which is not backed up by scientific tools, which is not fullproof. Let us take eg. Of good marks in subjects and the career chosen. Suppose a student gets good marks in Maths, we may think that his good career option in engineering. Later it was found that the student is not happy being an engineer. And later by the use of apptitude test it was found that though the student liked maths, he also had good traits if communication, patience, and liked explaining concept. Hence he is more appropriate in teaching field.

The apptitude test are backed by scientific calculation between liking and happiness derived from the subject. There are many statistical analysis such as Standard Deviations., Graphs, which are good for analysis rather than person's own judgements.
