Public participation is very important in the govern.ent system because government has its primary mandate to provide welfare services to people and therefore without involving people one can neither get the actual needs of people and neither the effective mechanism to deliver.

There are many kind of public participation from just informing to consulting to deliberation to co-creation.

Which tool is best differ from event to event and depends on circumstances and intended goal. For example foreign relation matters requires only awareness of people while introducing social reform needs active participation.
