Question

what is Linear Relationships Between Two Variables

what is Linear Relationships Between Two Variables

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Linear literally means a line, so a linear relationship explains the relationship between two variables in a graph with a help of a line. If the line stretches up as it moves from left to right, it’s considered as positive linear relationship and if the line stretches down as it moves from left to right, then it is considered as a negative linear relationship. It’s normally caused by an increase or decrease in the dependant variable as it would affect the dependant variable too. For example, if the price of a square foot is the independent variable and the house price is a dependent variable, the latter will change depending on the former. So as the price per square foot go up, the line may go up from left to right and on the other hand if the price per square foot comes down, the line on the graph that represent the price of the house will also travel down from left to right.

Which statement explains why correlation could be 0 even if a strong relationship between two variables existed? Group of answer choices Since the correlation is 0, there is no strong relationship between the two variables; and a scatterplot would be misleading. Correlation can be 0 even if there is a strong linear relationship between the variables. Correlation only measures the strength of the relationship between two variables when the units of the two variables are the same. Correlation does not...
