Now, in this discussion, consider these questions.
1. Have you ever felt pressured into buying an item only to get home and think "I don't need this!" How do you feel toward the person who "pressured" you to make the purchase?
2. Have you ever changed your mind about an issue? What caused you to change your view? Who changed your mind? Was it the other person, or did YOU choose to see things differently? Was it a combination of the other person's comments and your willingness to listen to a new idea, or was as it simply that you received new "facts?"
1. There have been some instances in my life where I clearly felt like I was pressured to buy something I didn’t need. A recent one took place in a cosmetic store where the sales woman began chatting with me and started pointing out the deficiencies in my hair and skin. She then recommended products from the store, narrating how it helped her as well. I was convinced by her story and ended up making a huge purchase. I felt quite angry much later as I realised that I was perhaps just another customer she told stories to in order to sell her products.
2. There have been multiple instances wherein I have changed my min with respect to a certain issue. In most cases, it has been due to me receiving new facts based on which I reorganise my beliefs. However, the source of information being reliable is a huge criteria for me to alter my existing perspectives.
