Explain the differences between rehabilitation and incapacitation. Which of the are the arguments in the rehabilitation versus incapacitation debate do you support? Why?
The term Rehabilitation simply means the process to readapt or restore to society or former position. Incapacitation means the state of being disabled and unable to move or function normally. It also depends on the extent to which a person commits the crime. Rehabilitation gives them a chance to reduce and work on themselves whereas incapacitation completely restrains them from doing any crime further.
I support Rehabilitation as we can give the person a chance to reduce the undesirable behavior. It also requires complete observation and willingness of the prisoner to change.
