Because low-achieving students ask fewer and more inappropriate questions than other students do, teachers avoid calling on them. What are the implications of such a finding?
I do not think that a teacher would ever avoid calling out on any student, be it a low achieving one or a high achieving one. A teacher must treat every student as same , and he/she should never try to run away from her duties , even if that means paying more attention to the weaker students.
If the teacher avoids calling on the weaker students, these students will perform even worse in the examinations , as they have nobody to solve their questions and doubts. In such a case, not just the student fails in the exam , the teacher fails too (morally) !!
