Equal protection clause forms a part of 14th amendment. It states that no state should be denying any citizen any of the rights that were provided by the government. The equal protection law states that all of the citizens get equal rights. There have been many examples in history that show how this clause was violated. An example of one such violation was when the couples of same se-x were not allowed to marry and their marriage was considered illegal. The right to marriage had been granted in the year 2015.

At present as well, this clause is being violated. There are many reported cases in which we hear that the police have searched or seized the individuals without any reason, with the underlying motive of harassment due to race difference. This is also referred to as racial profiling. Though not brought up on a major scale, these practices still go on.
