Two schools, one white and one black were closed in Virginia and students from these two schools were sent to T.C.Williams High School. The football team was forced to play together and they learnt to trust and appreciate each other with time. As the team's success became evident, people in the area even started to accept the desegregation.
People come to know others better only when they interact with each other. Prior to desegregation, people had stereotypical view on each other, especially, whites on blacks in their ability. Today, most of the successful people are African Americans even in the sports field. So, people when they witness the talent and abilities, tend to accept them more.
Today, there is not much racial tensions in the society as the tolerant level has become better. People live together and the number of new race born between the black and white is evident for the co-existence.
