The basic requirements educational qualification to be a police in most of the state is having a high school degree or iyit equivalent. This is because the police academy trains and prepares the recruits for the unique job requirements of the police force. Though a four year college degree as a minimum education standard is not mandatory, but, it is preferred in selecting recriuts for police academy, as higher educational qualification is helpful in understanding and carrying out the the unique tasks and challenges of police force.
