What evidence exists for emotional and personality factors as risk factors for cancer?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The evidence for existence of emotional and personality factors as risk factors for cancer is bare minimal. Studies show no direct effect of psychological factors as a risk factor for cancer. The evidence is unclear. However, though depression, anxiety and stress could contribute as a risk factor of cancer, the evidence is little. Low levels of neuroticism could be at increased risk of cancer, since these individuals continue to bottle up emotions and not let it out. The accumulation could contribute as a possible risk factor. However, researches show no such significance of emotional and personality factors as risk factors for cancer
