Now that you have surveyed evolutionary and cultural approaches to emotion, how do you weave these two kinds of theorizing into your own understanding f emotion? In what ways do you think emotions are evolved and universal and in what ways do they vary across cultures?
Emotions are the biological and psychological response to a situation. An individual identify his emotions in accordance with his cultural background.
An individual is born with basic emotions and as he grows in his society and culture... His identification of emotions change... Many emotions we experience have similar biological response, it's the way we perceive them that differs them from each other.
For eg- anxiety and sadness have similar biological foundation, but the way we perceive it depends on the situation, individual factors and cultural background.
Our perception is based on the cultural we are Born in and that ultimately defines our emotions too.
