In what ways do you see the application of psychological research in the various aspects of your personal and social life? Explain.
Psychology has been a discipline which has deeply impacted my life and the way I retrospect on it, not just by making me aware of the theoretical paradigms but also helping me relate to the application of it's different aspects in everyday life. Psychological research establishes the relationship we share with our thoughts, feeling and actions and how each impacts one another. It also explains us how we are a culmination of the biopsychosociocultural system in which we operate. This has been true since whenever I ponder on the way I operate in terms of my thought mechanisms, behavior and emotional regulation, I relate it to the way I made observations in my daily life from my environment and the larger sociocultural web in which I was born. Temperament which is often labelled as biological in nature is something that I'm able to point out to as well with the perspective that certain aspects of my overall personality are unachangeable. And so for better self reflection and a deeper understanding of self, various aspects of psychology and its research help me to often conduct self audits for myself and establish where I come from. More often than not understanding and gaining perspective helps in better acceptance and thereby embracing oneself for who we are, while also discerning the negotiable and non negotiable aspects of our being. All this ultimately tends to contribute in holistic development and moving towards a gradual self actualization
