1.) The “seven deadly sins.” Of the human failings recognized by the Roman Catholic Church during the Middle Ages, were ride, greed, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth. Why are these traits likely to be viewed as dangerous by people who live in an agrarian caste system with a strong traditional culture? Are these traits a threat to today’s capitalist class system? In what ways might most of them (perhaps all but sloth) actually be necessary to our way of life.

The values of society since the early times have been shaped by history and circumstances.Roman catholics kept morality above everything and such values,no doubt, have also penetrated into agrarian caste system as the agrarian social structures is based on caste hierarchy and the economic interdependence.The capatalist class id operative in a largely democratic world since the post- colonization times and thus the ethics still hold but the system of production will work purely on the principal of making profits and obtaining skilled labour.Thus the traditional structure is strained.These values are held important as they tend to shape our interaction with the larger society.Greed,envy and lust would believe to enable a competitive capitalist environment.Thus these notions are rekerele more than ever.
