How is music today shaped by the culture we live in?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

All the events, people and the culture today in our world is affected by what we listen to. Artists have to be aware of the world's current "trends" and news in order to attract people towards their music. The culture we live in and the way we live has been shaped by the music we listen to in some way. Kids are inspired by some artists and that also influences that behavior. People live by what they see and hear in order to fit in society. American music reflects how people have struggled against oppressive economic and social conditions. With the radio, Americans were exposed to a diversity of musical styles. Radio was able to expand regionally based music to audiences across the country, enabling people gain insight into different cultures.
